Governor, Please Stop the Fundraising

Californians want you to stop the fundraising.

When you announced your candidacy to replace Gray Davis you promised "I will go to Sacramento and I will clean house. I don't have to take money from anybody. I have plenty of money."

• Since then, you have raised $40 million — about $80,000 each day. That's twice as much as Governor Gray Davis, who you replaced for being a cash register politician.
  
• You say you will raise another $50 million from big industry donors this year to promote your ballot campaigns.
  
  
• You have proposed helping your big donors by calling for the unnecessary expenditure of $70 million of taxpayer funds on an unscheduled special election this November, even though there is already an election scheduled for next June.
  
  
• As you said before the recall: "Any of those kinds of real big, powerful special interests, if you take money from them, you owe them something."
